Fort New Amsterdam restoration powder house

The restoration of the powder house at the Nieuw-Amsterdam fortress took place in 2010. The building leaked and had cracks. The roof slates were removed and the leaks were repaired.

The cracks in the masonry walls were repaired, and a horizontal steel tie rod was placed in the interior, at the bottom of the vault, to absorb the horizontal vault forces and prevent future cracks.
